Your journey begins at Lemosho Gate where registration is completed before entering the rainforest zone. The trail is peaceful, shaded, and rich with natural beauty. Day 2

Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m) → Shira 2 Camp (3,850m)

Distance: 16 km | 7–8 hours
This is one of the longest trekking days, but also one of the most rewarding. You leave the rainforest behind and enter open moorland where the landscape becomes wider and more dramatic. The air becomes thinner as you gain altitude steadily. You pass Shira 1 area and continue across the Shira Plateau until you reach Shira 2 Camp. This day is very important for acclimatization and is done at a slow, controlled pace to ensure comfort and safety.

Distance: 10 km | 6–7 hours
Today is a key acclimatization stage known as “climb high, sleep low.” You ascend gradually to Lava Tower at 4,630 meters where your body experiences higher altitude conditions. After lunch and rest, you descend to Barranco Camp at 3,960 meters. This process helps your body adapt better and greatly improves summit success chances. The scenery becomes more dramatic with alpine desert views and unique vegetation.

Day 4

Barranco Camp (3,960m) → Karanga Camp (4,035m)

The day begins with the famous Barranco Wall, a steep but non-technical climb that looks intimidating but is very achievable with guide support. Once at the top, you are rewarded with stunning panoramic views. The trail then continues with gentle ups and downs toward Karanga Camp. Although the distance is short, the altitude keeps the body active, making this an important recovery and acclimatization day.

Destination Karanga Camp
Accommodation Karanga Campsite

Day 5

Karanga Camp (4,035m) → Barafu Camp (4,640m)

Distance: 4 km | 3–4 hours
You continue ascending steadily toward Barafu Camp, your final base before the summit attempt. The environment becomes cold, rocky, and more extreme, showing you are now in high alpine zone. Upon arrival, you rest, hydrate, and prepare your equipment. Your guide provides a detailed briefing for the midnight summit, including pacing, safety, and expectations for the climb.

Day 6

: Barafu Camp (4,640m) → Uhuru Peak (5,895m) → Mweka Camp (3,100m)

Distance: 17 km | 10–14 hours
This is the most challenging and most rewarding day. Around midnight, you begin your summit push in freezing temperatures and darkness. Slowly and steadily, you climb toward Stella Point as the sunrise begins to appear, then continue to Uhuru Peak—the highest point in Africa. Reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro is an emotional and unforgettable achievement. After celebrations and photos, you descend back to Barafu for rest, then continue all the way down to Mweka Camp for overnight recovery.

Yes. This package is family friendly and can be arranged for families traveling with children or multiple generations. The seven-day itinerary provides a more comfortable pace, while the mountain crew offers support throughout the climb. The suitability of the climb for younger children depends on age, fitness, experience, and medical advice.
3. What makes this a luxury Kilimanjaro climb? +
The luxury experience comes from combining the Kilimanjaro adventure with greater comfort and service. The package includes a comfortable hotel stay in Moshi, luxury mountain tents, quality meals, professional mountain crew, organized transfers, and careful trip coordination from arrival to departure.
4. What type of accommodation will I use? +
You will stay in a comfortable Kilimanjaro Wonders hotel in Moshi before and after the climb, while accommodation on the mountain is provided in spacious luxury tents. The tents offer a more comfortable camping experience compared with standard mountain camping.
5. Is this a group joining or private climb? +
It can be either. The package is designed for group joining and private trips, depending on your preference. Group joining allows you to share the experience with other travelers, while a private climb provides a more personalized experience for your family, couple, or friends.
6. How difficult is the 7 Days Lemosho Route? +
The Lemosho Route is considered a challenging high-altitude trek, but the seven-day itinerary makes the journey more manageable by allowing a gradual progression toward the summit. You should expect long walking days, changing weather conditions, steep sections, and a demanding summit night.
7. What is the success rate of the 7 Days Lemosho Route? +
A well-organized seven-day Lemosho climb can have a strong summit success rate, particularly when climbers follow the guide's pace, stay properly hydrated, eat well, and listen to their bodies. However, no operator can guarantee that you will reach Uhuru Peak, as altitude affects every person differently.
8. What meals are provided during the climb? +
Freshly prepared meals are provided throughout the mountain trek. Meals are planned to give you the energy needed for daily trekking and the demanding summit night. Special dietary requirements can also be discussed with us before the climb.
9. How much luggage can I take on the mountain? +
You should bring only the personal items you need for the trek. Your mountain crew will carry the permitted trekking luggage, while you normally carry a smaller daypack with essentials such as water, snacks, a jacket, and personal items. We will provide guidance on the appropriate packing arrangement before the climb.
10. Are porters included in the package? +
Yes. Porters are part of the mountain support crew and help carry camping equipment, food, and permitted luggage. This allows you to focus on walking and enjoying the mountain rather than carrying heavy loads.
11. Will I have a private guide? +
For private climbs, you will have a dedicated mountain crew arranged for your group. For group-joining climbs, you will trek with the assigned professional mountain crew supporting the group. The number of guides and porters depends on the group size and operational requirements.
12. What happens if I experience altitude sickness? +
Your guides monitor your condition throughout the climb and will respond if you develop symptoms related to altitude. The most important rule is to communicate immediately if you feel unwell. Depending on the severity, the guide may recommend rest, descent, or further assistance. Your safety always comes before reaching the summit.
13. What is the best time to climb the Lemosho Route? +
The Lemosho Route can be climbed throughout much of the year, but the main recommended seasons are January to March and June to October. These periods generally offer more favorable trekking conditions, although mountain weather can change at any time.
14. What should I pack for the 7 Days Lemosho Route? +
You will need suitable trekking clothing, warm layers, waterproof clothing, comfortable hiking boots, sleeping gear, a headlamp, personal toiletries, sun protection, water bottles or a hydration system, and other essential mountain equipment. We can provide a detailed Kilimanjaro packing list before your trip.
15. Can I combine this Kilimanjaro climb with a safari or Zanzibar holiday? +
Absolutely. Kilimanjaro can easily be combined with a Tanzania safari or Zanzibar beach holiday. We can help arrange the additional activities before or after your climb to create a complete Tanzania travel experience.
16. Is tipping the mountain crew required? +
Tipping is not mandatory, and there is no fixed amount required. However, tipping is a respected tradition on Kilimanjaro and is a meaningful way to appreciate the guides, cooks, and porters for their hard work. Tips are normally given at the end of the climb.
17.Can I rent Kilimanjaro trekking gear? +
Yes. Gear rental is available at an additional cost if you do not have all the equipment needed for the climb. Depending on availability, you can rent items such as warm jackets, sleeping bags, trekking poles, waterproof clothing, and other essential mountain gear. We recommend arranging your rental needs before the climb so everything is prepared in advance.
18.Is a private portable toilet included in the package? +
Yes. A private portable toilet is included in this luxury package and will be available at your campsite throughout the entire trek. It will be set up and maintained by the mountain crew each day, giving you greater privacy, convenience, and comfort compared with using the shared public toilet facilities at the mountain camps.
